SPEECH SOUND ASSESSMENT
(ARTICULATION AND PHONOLOGY)
Articulation is the production and clarity of how speech sounds are produced. These typically occur in a sequential process. Most children should have established all sounds by the age of 9. Common articulation difficulties that your child may see a Speech Pathologist for include:
Lisp i.e. slushy sound quality to their speech
Sound substitutions e.g. say “w” for “r” (“wabbit” for “rabbit”)
Unclear speech, hard to understand
At Bright Start Speech Pathology we can thoroughly assess your child’s articulation and most importantly provide a tailored intervention plan to suit your child and their goals.
NB: Green indicates the sound should be established by this age
