Articulation is the production and clarity of how speech sounds are produced. These typically occur in a sequential process. Most children should have established all sounds by the age of 9. Common articulation difficulties that your child may see a Speech Pathologist for include:

  • Lisp i.e. slushy sound quality to their speech

  • Sound substitutions e.g. say “w” for “r” (“wabbit” for “rabbit”)

  • Unclear speech, hard to understand

At Bright Start Speech Pathology we can thoroughly assess your child’s articulation and most importantly provide a tailored intervention plan to suit your child and their goals.

NB: Green indicates the sound should be established by this age
